AYSO EXTRA is Competitive Travel Soccer within AYSO. EXTRA Program Players are on a regular Core AYSO Team and the EXTRA Team. EXTRA adheres to the same philosophies and principles as our Core (standard) AYSO program, but offers greater competition and opportunities for further player development. EXTRA teams have well trained, experienced volunteer coaches, and practices are led by paid professional trainers. EXTRA teams will play other AYSO EXTRA teams from AYSO regions across the north side of Chicago and near suburbs - longest drive is around 30 minutes.
Tryouts for EXTRA are held each Spring for the following Fall-Spring season. Players must also be registered for AYSO's Core league as well.
ELIGIBILITY:
For the Fall 2024-Spring 2025 season, boys or girls born in 2013-2016, who will be in 10U and 12U divisions are eligible to try out.
· 10U: Players born 2015-2016. More advanced younger players born in 2017 may also try out.
· 12U: Players born 2013-2014. (Given lower registration numbersU12 Girls in 7th grade born between Sept. 1 – Dec. 31, 2012 may also try out)

TRYOUTS
Dates: Thursday, May 30th & Tuesday, June 4th, 2024 (Come to either or both)
Times:
· 10U Boys & Girls: 5:30PM - 6:30PM
· 12U Boys & Girls: 6:30PM - 7:30PM
TIME COMMITMENT
In total, a player in AYSO EXTRA has 2 soccer games a week (both Sunday) and 2 practices – a comparable amount of soccer as joining a club team.
EXTRA players are expected to attend practices and games with their Core AYSO team.
In addition, EXTRA Teams have 1 additional practice per week, and play one additional game each Sunday at 5:30 PM. Practices are scheduled based on coach and field availability. The practices are led by paid professional trainers.
The EXTRA schedule is similar to the Core schedule: teams play in the fall and spring, with a break during the winter.
COST
There is no cost or commitment to try out. There will be an additional fee for the EXTRA team if your son or daughter make the team. The fee for 2024-2025 season will be $250. The fee for EXTRA is in addition to the Core AYSO fee. This pays for the additional uniform and professional coaching time. Scholarship Funds are available, and payments plans can be extended.
